9th-10th March 2015.


Central and Eastern Europe Shale Gas and Oil Summit 2015 is a two-day conference and an exhibition aimed at revival and reinforcement of search for shale gas in Poland. This year, it was held from 9th to 10th March 2015 at Radisson Blu hotel, in Warsaw.
The conference aims at finding present and prospective opportunities for shale gas industry in Poland, bringing high rank politicians, experts, companies and together.

The speakers were, among the others:

  • Dmytro Kashchuk – The President of The Ukrainian Geological Survey
  • Rob Hull – Director for Technology Solutions in Halliburton
  • Marek Madeja – Poland Country Manager Cuadrilla
  • Dr Jurga Lazauskienẻ – The President of geology of bedrocks at The Lithuanian Geological Survey
  • Paweł Poprawa – expert in the field of geology of unconventional gas deposits, The Energy Studies Institute
  • Stanisław Rychlicki – Professor at The Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas, The Department of Oil Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology
  • Danuta Miedzińska from The Department of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science, The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Military University of Technology, representing The Centre of Advanced Energetic Technologies presented the paper titled: The Polish method of extracting gas from shale with the use of CO2 – research challenges.

The following issues were discussed during the conference:
  • How to limit the effect of shale gas extraction on the natural environment
  • Technological novelties
  • Promotion of investments into European shale gas
  • Assessment of investment capacity
  • Experience of extractive companies in Poland
  • Political situation in Ukraine and its effect on possibilities of shale gas extraction
  • Extraction works in Romania
  • Access to Polish shale
  • Importance of shale gas in energy efficiency in Central and Eastern Europe
  • Public opinion concerning shale gas
